Jerald "Jerry" Kissner, 62, of Lamberton died Nov. 18, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services were Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with Pastor Mark Jamison officiating.
Sturm Funeral Home of Lamberton handled the funeral arrangements.
Jerald "Jerry" Lee Kissner was born March 17, 1955, to Robert and Wilma (Purrington) Kissner in Windom. The youngest of five children, Jerry grew up on the family farm.
After graduating from Lamberton High School, he explored the West Coast on his motorcycle before returning to work on the family farm in Highwater Township.
In 1984, Jerry married Nancy Hoffman in Wabasso. They met through their mutual love of softball. They moved to the family farm homestead where they raised their three children.
Jerry raised livestock and farmed for many years until completing the harvest this fall. He also worked for many years as a crop insurance adjuster.
Jerry's passion for knowledge led him to be mechanically inclined. He enjoyed helping his children with house projects and finding inventive solutions to any problem.
A kid at heart, he enjoyed making people laugh with his jokes and pranks.
After many years of playing softball, he retired from the game and took up golfing, shooting pool and fishing. He took multiple fishing trips with his sons and spent many family vacations in Mexico. Family was most important to Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Wilma Kissner; and sisters, Diane Kissner and Julie Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Nancy; children: Nicki (Scott) Price of Kirkland, Wash.; Tyler (Heather Brandenburg) Kissner of Sioux Falls; and Wade Kissner of Detroit Lakes; two grandchildren; brother, Dewey Kissner; and a sister, Carol Kissner.
