Neal Grunewald, 82, of Windom died Nov. 18, 2017, at Windom Area Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m., at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom with Pastor Mike McInnis officiating.
Special music will be provided by Carol Vought, pianist; and Mike Foley, vocalist.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday for one hour prior to services at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.
Neal Billings Grunewald was born May 15, 1935, to Frank D. and Hellen M. (Billings) Grunewald in Windom. He was baptized and later confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Windom.
Neal received his education in Windom Public Schools, graduating from Windom High School in 1953.
In 1955, Neal married Norma Jean Pierce at American Lutheran Church in Windom. Neal owned and operated his own backhoe company and garbage route for many years. He then worked for Kruse Paving, Woizeschke Tiling, Grunewald Gravel and the compost site. He lived his entire life in Windom.
Neal was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed hunting out West, fishing, reading, looking for a bargain, his grand-dogs and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Neal was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lee Grunewald in 1964.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Norma Grunewald of Windom; two children, Gary (Monica) Grunewald and Tammy (Roger) Holt, all of Windom; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Deb (Jim) VanOosbree.
