A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m., at Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson.
Military rites by Jackson American Legion and VFW posts will follow the service.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson.
David Henry Lock was born July 25, 1940, to Martin and Dorothy (Kruse) Lock in Lakefield. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield. He attended Lakefield Public Schools, graduating from Lakefield High School in 1958.
After high school, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as a radio comm operator in the Pacific Ocean.
After his discharge in 1963, David focused on his music, but paid the bills by driving truck and working miscellaneous jobs.
Later in life, the longtime Jackson Country resident was ordained and went on the road as a "truck stop preacher," spreading the Word and singing at roadside rest stops throughout the country.
David not only enjoyed singing and playing guitar in his band, Funny Farmers, but he also enjoyed traveling through the Adirondack Mountains and playing golf and pool. For the past 10 years, he especially enjoyed country line dancing with his partner, Vicki.
David was a member of the Eagles Club.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Grantz.
Survivors include special friend, Vicki Vacek of Jackson; and five nieces and nephews: Craig (Cindy) Grantz of Storden, Marcia (Gary) Elsbecker of Jackson, Robert Grantz and Michael Grantz, both of Westbrook, and Becky (Aaron) Ambrosier of Evergreen, Colo.
