Gladys "Tim" Schumacher, 95, of Heron Lake died Feb. 9, 2014, at Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m., at United Methodist Church in Heron Lake with Pastor Kathy Brandt officiating.
Special music will be provided by Ardis Mickelson, organist; and Chris Schumacher, vocalist, singing "Borning Cry."
Congregational hymns will be "How Great Thou Art," "In The Garden" and "Rock of Ages."
Ushers will be Burdell and Marlys Symens.
Casket bearers will be Konrad Schumacher, Edward Schumacher, Trent Schumacher, Stuart Schumacher and Zach Schumacher.
Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Heron Lake.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church in Heron Lake.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.
Gladys "Tim" Merle Schumacher was born on Aug. 19, 1918, in Heron Lake to the late Milton and Edith (Kilgore) Fox. She was baptized at a young age and later confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Heron Lake.
Tim attended school in Heron Lake and several country schools and graduated from Heron Lake in the Class of 1937.
Tim was united in marriage to Russell Arden Schumacher on Aug. 3, 1937, in Allison, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Leon and Dean.
Through the years, Tim and Russell were turkey farmers along with having a commercial fishing/minnow business and owning and operating Schumacher Berry Farm, all in Heron Lake.
Russell passed away on Dec. 30, 2001. After his death, Tim continued to live in Heron Lake until becoming a resident of the Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake where she passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Feb. 9, 2014, at the age of 95 years.
Tim was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Heron Lake. She enjoyed participating in the Elmer's Glue Club.
Tim will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She had many enjoyments in life which included gardening, fishing, dancing, quilting, cooking - especially caramels and caramel rolls, and family visits - especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tim is survived by her two sons, Leon D. (Margaret) Schumacher of Ely; Dean S. (Judy) Schumacher of Heron Lake; five grandchildren: Konrad, Edward, Trent (Kim) and Adam (Chris) Schumacher and Carmen (David) Mertens; 13 great-grandchildren: Alex, Chelsea, Claire and Mary Schumacher, Zachary and Hailey Schumacher, Stuart, Garrett, Wyatt, Madelyn and Addison Schumacher, Tate Mertens, Sean Campbell; one great-great-grandchild, Jackson Schumacher; good friend, Ollie Volk of Windom; and several nieces and nephews.
Tim is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; four brothers: Charles, Eugene, Willard and Paul; four sisters: Lillie, Mary, Rose and Bertha.
