Jack D. Dalton, 54, of Mt. Lake died Jan. 29, 2014, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
A memorial service was Tuesday at Evangelical Free Church in Windom with Pastor Roger Berg officiating.
Special music was provided by John and Cindy Gardiner, vocalists.
Honorary bearers were Jack's nieces and nephews: Brandon, Libby, Casey, Ben, Laura and Kyle; and his great-nephew and great-niece, Elijah and Imogen.
Inurnment with military honors provided by Mt. Lake American Legion Post 389 was at Mt. Lake City Cemetery.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Jack David Dalton was born April 5, 1959, to C. Jack and Norma (Newell) Dalton in Peoria, Ill. He received his education from Toulon High School in Toulon, Ill.
After high school, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Marines.
He worked as a welder at AGCO in Jackson for many years.
In 2007, Jack was diagnosed with cancer.
Jack was a member of Windom Evangelical Free Church.
He enjoyed fishing, repairing computers, reading and playing video games with his nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carter "Jack" Dalton; and a brother, Joel Dalton.
Survivors include his mother, Norma Dalton of Mt. Lake; four siblings: Lynda (Jerry) Young of Washington, Ill.; Ron (Kristie) Dalton of Mt. Lake; Mike Dalton of Fulda; and Wendy (Frank) Johnson of Avoca; six nieces and nephews; a great niece and a great-nephew.
