Irene Kuiper, 93, of Windom, formerly of Jeffers, died Dec. 29, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Services were Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers with Pastor Cole McCormick officiating.
Special music was provided by Carol Vought, organist; and Roger Quade, vocalist.
Casket bearers were Tom Kuiper, Jason Nelson, Matt Nelson, Eric Sinclair, Jeff Stolle, Ann McCready, Brigitte Sinclair and Cade Kuiper.
Interment was at Jeffers Cemetery in rural Jeffers.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Irene Sophie Emma Storbeck was born June 22, 1920, to Edward and Hilda Storbeck on the family farm north of Bingham Lake.
In 1940, Irene married Albert Kuiper. They farmed and lived on the same family farm until 1983 when they retired and moved to Jeffers.
Irene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, the Lions Club and the Hoe and Hope Garden Club for 50 years.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing cards.
Irene will be remembered for her sense of humor and her love and support for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; a sister, Alice Grunke; a brother, Lyle Storbeck; and a grandson, Tim Kuiper.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Theresa) Kuiper of Canton, S.D.; two daughters, Mary Ellen (Jim) Stolle of Brainard and Carol (Bruce) Nelson of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Matzke of Apache Junction, Ariz.
