John Mix, 64, of Windom died Nov. 19, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook.
Services were Saturday at American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Sarah Larsen Tade officiating.
Special music was provided by Karen Wojahn, organist; and Mark Nass, vocalist.
Honorary bearers were Dennis Brugman, Dr. Lee Mabee, Dr. Bob Mabee, Wayne Chaussee, Richard Frost, Robert Gaalswyck, Brian Link and Tim Frederickson.
Interment with full military honors provided by Windom American Legion Post 206 and the Minnesota Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors was at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
John William Mix was born Aug. 22, 1949, to Lloyd W. and Grace A. (Chester) Mix in Windom. He was confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Windom in 1965.
John received his education in Windom Public Schools, graduating from Windom High School in 1967. John continued his education at SDSU and Arizona State.
He served in the Army National Guard for six years.
In 1973, John married Linda Ann Leslie at St. Paul Park. For over 40 years, John was owner/baker of Mix Bakery in Windom until it closed in August 2004.
Recently, John became a resident of Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook.
John was a member of American Lutheran Church in Windom.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, yard work, landscaping, attending his children's events and coffee hour at the bakery with the "boys."
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Mix of Windom; two children, Jason (Cassie) Mix of Buffalo and Molly Mix of Windom; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Loris (Richard) Frost of Green Bay, Wis.; and Julie (Lee) Sorenson of Willmar.
