Julie Ann Carlson, 58, of Englewood Colo., the daughter of Alice Kansanback of Windom, died Oct. 9, 2013, at her home after a battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life service was held Oct. 14 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch, Colo., with Rev. Rob White officiating.

Julie Ann Kansanback was born March 2, 1955, to Arnold and Alice Kansanback in Windom. She graduated from Storden-Jeffers High School in 1973 and Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter in 1977.
Julie was an educator for over 30 years, most of which were spent in Littleton (Colo.) Public Schools.
Her passion was teaching, whether reading to elementary students or leading an adult Bible study.
Julie enjoyed visiting Phoenix to see her children and grandson. She also enjoyed kayaking, hiking, traveling, spending time with friends and hosting parties.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Kansanback.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Carlson; daughter, Lindsey and her husband; son, Tucker Carlson; one grandson; her mother, Alice Kansanback of Windom; sisters, Cindy (LeRoy) Davis of Parker, S.D.; and Jayne (Reed) Moormeier of Chaska; and brothers, Mike Kansanback of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Joel Kansanback of Orono.
