Cody Nelson, 30, of Storden died Aug. 30, 2013, at his home in Storden.
Memorial services were Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden with Pastor Cole McCormick officiating.
Special music was provided by Ardelle Swenson, organist; Elizabeth Johnson and Morgen Pederson, vocalists.
Honorary bearers were Brady Sutherland, Tyler Grams, Ron Blanchette, Travis Halland, Eric Olson, Cody Nelson, members of the Storden Fire Department and Storden Men's Club.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Cody Dean Russel Nelson was born Nov. 11, 1982, to Dean and Karla (Stoever) Nelson in Worthington. He was baptized and later confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden. He received his education from Red Rock Central Schools, graduating in 2001.
Cody attended Ridgewater Technical College in Willmar for two years.
He began working in maintenance at POET Biorefining in Bingham Lake in May.
Cody was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden. He also was a member of the Storden Fire Department and Storden Men's Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with friends. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children, Brekyn and Kendra.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Russell Stoever, Jay Nelson and Herbert Eigenberg.
Survivors include his two children, Brekyn Nelson of Windom and Kendra Nelson of Tracy; his parents, Dean and Karla Nelson of Storden; two sisters, Kali Nelson and her fiance, Daniel Quade, of Storden and Jaycee Nelson of Mankato; his grandmothers, Barbara Eigenberg of Heron Lake and Ada Nelson-Matz of Walters; and special friend, Kim Ostgaard of Tracy.
