Esther Brugman, 88, of Windom died Aug. 20, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Services were Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Windom with Pastor Art Miller officiating.
Special music was provided by Deann Steele, organist; Pastor Art and Sherry Miller, vocalists.
Casket bearers were Esther's grandsons: Jason Axford, Brian Axford, Justin Axford, Jeremy Ibberson, Cory Ibberson and Nathan Brugman.
Honorary bearers were her grandchildren: Amanda and Jay Sheehan, Stephanie and Randy Vlasak, Melissa and Justin Dardis, Angela and Ryan Murray, Bridget Brugman, Chelsea Brugman, Cassidy Hacker, Angela Axford, Heidi Axford, Cari Moitz Ibberson and Tashi Ibberson; and great-great-grandchildren: Logan, Austin and Anthony Axford; Carson, Carter, Jenna, Adam, Brady and Collin Axford; Andrew and Megan Sheehan; Emily and Levi Scofield; Jorja Ibberson and Colten Ibberson; and Hadley Dardis.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Esther Belle Keller was born Feb. 5, 1925, to Albert and Myrtle (Anthony) Keller in Windom. She was confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Windom. She received her education from Windom Public Schools, graduating in 1943.
A few years after high school, Esther attended Franklin Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis where she earned her LPN degree in 1948.
In 1950, Esther married Leland W. Brugman at First Presbyterian Church in Windom. They farmed in the Jeffers and Delft areas for many years. Esther was a farm wife and worked part-time as an LPN for 13 years at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
After Leland's death in 2005, Esther continued living at home until moving to Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom in 2012.
Esther was a member of First United Methodist Church in Windom.
She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, reading, solving word finds, playing bingo at Hardee's, watching the Minnesota Twins and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as attending their school activities and watching them show their 4-H projects at the county fair.
In addition to her husband Leland, Esther was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Charles Keller; and a sister, Ruth Keller.
Survivors include her four children: Barb (Floyd) Axford of Windom, Don (Cheryl) Brugman of Jeffers; Pat (Brian) Hacker of Sleepy Eye and Russ (Barb) Brugman of Alta, Iowa; 13 granchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marj (Ken) Loken of Asheville, N.C.
