Larry Johnson, 70, of Mankato, formerly of Windom, died July 20, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Services were Tuesday at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Rev. Dan Horn officiating.
Interment was at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato handled the funeral arrangements.
Larry Wayne Johnson was born April 4, 1943, to Lloyd and Dorothy (Sigstad) Johnson in Windom. He grew up and graduted from high school in Windom where he was a standout on the Eagle basketball team.
Larry worked at Lampert Yards in Windom for 15 years and was manager there for a number of those years. He also served as an EMT and on the fire department rescue squad for 12 years.
He served in the National Guard for six years, graduating from officer's candidate school.
After moving to Mankato, Larry opened and operated Farm and Home Lumber for several years. In 1990, he opened Johnson's Sports Cards and Collectables, which he operated for nine years.
Since 2002, he has been selling metal buildings for Pro Build/UBC in Mankato.
Larry was a Shriner and a member of Prudence Lodge in Windom and the Zuhrah Shrine.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughter, Kris Lindbloom; two granddaughters; and a sister, Trudi (Henry) Schmidt.
