Patty Stene, 55, of New Auburn, Wis., formerly of Windom, died May 19, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wis., from injuries sustained in a car accident.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., at American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Tim Wrenn officiating.
Special music will be provided by Karen Wojahn, organist; and Jean Johnson, vocalist.
Honorary bearers will be her special friends, Don Zan-der and Carol Lee Taylor.
Interment will be held at a later date at Chippewa Lutheran Cemetery in Brandon.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 5 to 7 p.m., at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom and continue Thursday at the church for one hour prior to services.
Patty Elizabeth Stene was born July 26, 1957, to Eugene Arlow and Janice Bell (Glidden) Stene in Windom. She was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Windom and received her education in Windom Area Schools, graduating from Windom Area High School in 1975.
Patty and her daughters, Truda and Elsa, lived in Prescott, Wis., where Patty owned and operated an alcohol and drug clinic for Dakota County. She closed her clinic and moved to New Auburn, Wis., in 2012.
She was planning a move to Eagle River, Wis., to be a counselor at Lac Du Flambeau Indian Reservation when she was involved in the car accident.
Patty enjoyed traveling, art, Arabian horses, dogs, cats, decorating and meeting friends.
Survivors include her parents, Eugene and Janice Stene of Alpha; two daughters, Truda (Brandon) Hanson of Hastings and Elsa (Mike) Hildebrandt of Prescott, Wis.; four brothers: Jody (Noreen) Stene of Jackson; Joey (Bonny) Stene of Rohnert Park, Calif.; Jay (Andrea) Stene of Rochester, Wash.; and Jed Stene of Cordova, Alaska; and a sister, Julie (Todd) Moller of Windom.
