Vivian Downs, 94, of Windom died April 27, 2013, at Windom Area Hospital.
Services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Windom with Pastor Arthur Miller officiating.
Special music will be provided by Deann Steele, organist; and Nadine Forman, vocalist.
Casket bearers will be Kent Lundstrom, Erik Lundstrom, John Lee and John Lee.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in rural Windom.
Visitation will be held today at the church for one hour prior to services.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.
Vivian Myrlis Larson was born Jan. 25, 1919, to August and Emma (Johnson) Larson in Delafield Township of Jackson County. She was baptized and later confirmed at Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Minneapolis.
Vivian attended District 70 in Jackson County. She later attended DeLyles Beauty School in Minneapolis, graduating in 1945.
In 1945, Vivian married Maurice Brewster. They moved to Windom where Vivian owned and operated Vivian's Beauty Shop from 1958 to 1986.
Maurice died in 1960.
In 1961, Vivian married Clare Lundstrom. The marriage was dissolved in 1969.
In 1986, Vivian married Loyd Downs and they continued living in Windom.
Loyd died in 2006 and Vivian lived on her own until moving to Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom in December 2012.
Vivian was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a caretaker for many people, including her mother and brother who had MS.
In addition to her husbands, Maurice, Clare and Loyd, Vivian was preceded in death by three brothers: Melvin (Esther) Larson, Kenneth Larson and Orville (Virginia) Larson; and five sisters: Agnes Larson, Hazel (Jim) Celt, Ruth Larson, Ruby (Carl) Mulligan and Verna (Bob) Williams.
Survivors include her two children: Susan Brewster (John) Lee of Windom and Kent (Ann) Lundstrom of Northfield; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
