Lessons to be learned from heath hen extinction
No, by no means, is this column to be interpreted that our pheasants will become extinct like the heath hen 100 years ago. But, if we read and learn from the total loss of that bird from the earth, maybe we can learn some lessons. That will help us better manage our most prized gamebird, the Chinese ring-necked pheasant.

Cybersecurity for your mobile device
October is National Cybersecurity month. It is a good time to review your online security and habits.

Domestic violence affects our future
When you ask children to think about their future, how do they respond?
Some answer with their favorite profession, maybe a police officer, a professional athlete, or a doctor. Others might mention the family they hope to have, with a big house. Ill-timed road closures in the Cities
I've lived in a rural area for most of my life.
I've never had to deal with traffic on a day-to-day basis. And, for many years, I would deliberately try to find ways to take back roads so I wouldn't have to drive through congested areas.
But sometimes, the bustle of Twin Cities traffic is generally unavoidable.
