Roadkill bobcat near Highwater Creek no surprise
A couple weeks ago someone reported to Conservation Officer (C.O.) Dustin Miller they had spotted a roadkill that might be a bobcat. It was confirmed, a 15-20 lb. female. It was found along a road near the junction of county highways 5 and 10.
That would put it very near Highwater Creek. The fact it was found there is interesting and, it came as no surprise to me that if bobcats were present in our county it would be there.

It couldn't have been better
This is my last column for iCitizen. I will soon be starting as a pastor at Springfield United Methodist Church. We are moving there, as God has called me to give up my job and life here and move on to minister to the people of Springfield. It's an exciting move and one that Sue and I are ready to undertake with joy.

Bicycle patrol, radar trailer among successful additions
As a community, we recently recognized National Police Week, May 13-19.
As this week's Citizen guest columnist, I appreciate the opportunity to let the public know more about several of the Windom Police Department's summer initiatives and also to remind our Windom residents what National Police Week is really all about.

What's next for the 2018 grad?
One of the things I always enjoy is checking out the graduation pages in our newspaper.
It's interesting to learn what graduates plan to do with the next phase of their lives. Most will go to college, while others will head straight into the work force. A few have decided to join the armed forces.

Changes at the Chamber
We are getting pretty good at saying farewell to good people, here in Windom.
Longtime residents can probably rattle off a pretty long list of school leaders, business managers, key Toro staff, medical professionals and many others who pulled up roots. Somewhere on that list, I should mention "Chamber of Commerce executive directors."

Farewell to the boss
This next week here at iCitizen is a big one because Rick will be leaving iCitizen to become the pastor at the Springfield Methodist Church. I wanted to take time this week to thank you for all that you have done for iCitizen and its employees.
