Isn't losing punishment enough in fantasy football?
Anyone who has ever won in a fantasy football league knows the spoils of victory are great.
In one league I'm in, the winning team gets a trophy. In another, we have a championship belt for the winning team.
Usually, the team that finishes dead last in the league is the butt of all jokes. The "Toilet Bowl" pits the two worst teams in the league, trying to claim bragging rights that at least they could beat someone. Some leagues have trophies for the last-place team. For one of my leagues, the last-place team gets a pink fanny pack.

Celebrating Windom's art
One thing that deserves more attention is our fantastic artists.
Well, it looks like that will change on Saturday as Windom hosts Southwest Minnesota Arts Council's annual meeting and celebration of art and artists of the 18-county region. It is the first time in SMAC's 40-year history that Windom has hosted this event.

Hen pheasants down dramatically in 2017 count
It was several years ago that I started noticing the decrease in the number of hens per pheasant rooster in the spring. It could/should be three hens per rooster for best nesting. This spring it was worse as I noticed mostly one hen per rooster. From a high of three hens with one rooster it occasionally dipped to an occasional rooster that was very lonesome as it displayed its beauty and crowed to no one.
