Shining moment for local ref
The spring sports season officially came to a close over the weekend with the girls basketball state tournament.
The teams nearest to Windom in the state tournament this year were Springfield and Minneota in Class A, Fairmont in Class AA and Marshall in Class AAA, so there weren't any teams from the immediate area in this year's tournament.

Aargh . . . Windows 10 is even free for pirates, matey
As I mentioned before, Windows 10 will be free of charge for users of Windows 7 and above. Now, if that wasn't enough to get us dancing in the streets, Microsoft now says Windows 10 will be free for almost everyone, including those software pirates. Does this spell the end of software pirate ships that roam the seven seas? Yes, anyone with a qualified device can upgrade to Windows 10, including those with pirated copies of Windows.

Big changes at Windomnet
When I moved to Windom in 1988, Windom was enjoying the golden age of cable TV systems.
Our city could buy and offer channels so cheaply that Windom was making good money, even at $12 per month. My how things have changed.

PUPs are Potentially Unwanted Programs. A PUP is like malware in that it may cause problems once it is on your computer. However, unlike malware, you consent to a PUP being installed, rather than it installing itself without your knowledge.
