He's making a list, checking it twice
It's beginning to look a little bit more like Christmas, after an extended stretch of warm weather.
The ground is finally somewhat white and everyone is getting excited for the season.
That means that Santa will soon be loading up the sleigh to deliver presents to all the good girls and boys.
Every year, the Post Office is flooded with letters to Santa from girls and boys of all ages, expressing what they would like to receive.
Well, we here at the Citizen have a bit of an "in" with the big guy and he shared some of his more unusual requests with us. To maintain the writers' anonymity, we've included only their initials and home town.

Windows 10 Reset
One of the Windows features that is new in Windows 10 is Reset. Reset can be very helpful if your computer is running poorly or you are getting strange messages. Reset returns your computer to a fresh install state where all the problems, in theory, are wiped away. Sounds great, right?

However, there is some downside to resetting your computer. You should know what that downside is before pushing the reset button. So, before I give you the instructions to reset here are the ramifications of a reset.

Now is not time for lawmakers to hit pause button
With the national political circus and the drama of the upcoming 2018 elections threatening to steal attention away from more imminent state and local concerns, we need to count on our state legislators to stay focused on the upcoming legislative session and not fall prey to distractions.
Now is not the time to press the pause button on progress for our state.

Wanted: Young adult baseball enthusiasts
If the Windom Baseball Association were to take out a "Help Wanted" ad in the classified section, the ad might look something like this:
"Help Wanted: Young adults with a passion for baseball, supporting youth baseball and spending time at the ball park; minimal time commitment required; be able to lift 40 pounds (occasionally), assist with preseason and postseason maintenance needs around the ball park; enjoy conversing with others about baseball."
Actually, that's just who the WBA is looking for.

Bowie knives: a big part of deer hunting heritage
We call things handed down from the past our heritage. Hunting knives, it seems to me, is now a big deer hunting heritage.
It could also, to a lesser degree, even be called a rite of passage for young hunters. "Not 'til you're old enough", we explain to the young people as they grow up. Then, some fall, we let them strap a sheathed knife to their belt and away we go.
