Yesterday on my way to Edgewood,N.M., to see my mentor Pastor Leonard Navarre (I am so thankful to have Pastor Leonard as an adviser to FGGAM!), I got a text message from Sonja Haldeman that our classmate of Windom 1974, Lynn Nagorske, had passed onto Heaven.
I called his wife Pam and had a very blessed conversation with her. I received many comments on the posting I did of Lynn on May 3rd (see below) after I talked to him for the first time since 1974. Pam said what I wrote touched Lynn to his soul and that someone brought a print out of the Cup to him and they will read it at the funeral.
I will never forget Lynn's last words to me, "Keep doing what you are doing."
Lynn is well known in Minnesota as a very successful banker in the Twin Cities area. More importantly, he was a Godly husband and father. Pam said he was pretty quiet about his faith but he walked the walk.
I have been praying as usual what to write this morning, the Lord has shown me for years that He wants me and you to stand in the gap for the sanctity of life. Lynn lived a Godly life. He served many people, helping the economy of the State of Minnesota. He valued human life. He had a pure heart. He took his one life here on earth that the Lord gave him and served many.
He had a pure heart. Let's revisit the May 3 post for a bit.
Matthew 5:8: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."
From May 3: I received a phone call from my high school classmate Sonja Haldeman about our classmate Lynn Nagorske. I remember Lynn as a highly intelligent friendly man! An intelligent level that I have never reached! LOL!
I would read in the Windom paper (our hometown) of his great work as a banker. Sonja called to tell me Lynn is in his final days of life here on earth because of cancer.
I have not talked to or seen Lynn since 1974.
Only God, through His servant, Sonja, could this connection happen again!
This was an appointed time by God to accomplish what God wants done.
I called Lynn and we had a wonderful Godly conversation, we picked up from our school days! He knows he is going to Heaven. He told me at the end of our conversation, "You keep doing what you are doing!" I will remember that the rest of my life.
I prayed over him and his family. I told him what a blessing to be able to talk and pray with him. I asked him later in a text message if our prayer warriors could pray for him and his lovely wife Pam and children. He said, "Absolutely! What a blessing!"
Lynn is in his final days here on earth in his late 50s. What a testimony to all of us, he is ready to meet our Lord.
This is not the script Lynn has written for his life, but he has accomplished much while here on earth, he did not waste his life. He served God's people in his profession with Biblical principles. He has served God well and his family.
He served people. Je did not expect to be served. May we do the same.
