Value of Alice training
Moments after bullets started flying out of the AR-15 weapon last week, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School went into lockdown mode.
It is what countless teachers and staff across the USA are trained to do. Stay put, lock the doors.
Despite the school's lockdown, 18 lives were lost. We have since learned that the gunman knew about the lockdown drill and pulled the fire alarm to counteract it. According to reports, students who were shot were mostly those who were out in the open, running away from the shooter.
