7/31/2014 8:09:00 AM Windom fall activity eligibility meeting is Tuesday
Windom Area High School will hold its fall activity eligibility meeting Tuesday, beginning at 7 p.m., in the new gym at the high school.
All students entering grades 7-12 who are involved in a fall sport or fine arts activity, as well as their parents, should attend the meeting.
Minnesota State High School League forms will be handed out for parents and students to sign. Parents will also have the opportunity to pay their fall activity fees and purchase activity passes at the meeting.
Following the meeting, each individual fall activity will have a separate small-group meeting with the participants and parents.
Activities Director Dane Nielsen noted that athletic physicals are required for all students entering seventh grade before they are eligible for athletics, and that the physical must be updated every three years. Students who do not already have a physical on file at the school are required to do so, and any athlete that has experienced a significant injury in a sport may be required to update their physical.
In addition, student-athletes may need to update their concussion baseline testing. A concussion baseline test is required for all students entering seventh grade who plan to take part in a fall sport, and may need to be updated if a student has experienced a concussion in the past.
