Ellsworth 21-31-03-06 = 61 RRC 19-33-03-08 = 63 Ellsworth's Alexa Huisman provided late heroics in regulation and the first overtime, but her last-second chance to tie the game in the second overtime was batted away, helping preserve a 63-61 win for Red Rock Central Friday at Lamberton.
The Falcons' sister tandem of senior Melanie Kedl and freshman Rachel Kedl did much of the offensive damage for the Falcons in the game. Melanie finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Rachel had 17 points and six blocked shots, including the game-saving block as time ran out in the second overtime.
Olivia Bittner added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the win for the Falcons.
Madelia 24-21 = 45 MLA 28-28 = 56 Mt. Lake Area gathered momentum for the post-season Saturday by picking up a 56-45 victory over Madelia at Mt. Lake.
The Wolverines outscored Madelia 28-21 in the second half to pull away for the victory.
Rachel Dukes led MLA with 19 points. Mikayla Falk added 10 points and seven steals. Stacey Harder added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
WWG 16-21 = 37 SWU 38-23 = 61 Southwestern United jumped to an early lead and never looked back, rolling to a 61-37 win over Westbrook-Walnut Grove Friday in Okabena.
The Wildcats led by 22 points at halftime.
Elizabeth Woelber led WWG with 11 points. Dayna Comnick chipped in nine.
MLA 23-22 = 45 Edgerton 32-22 = 54 Edgerton's inside game proved to be the difference Friday night as the Dutchmen claimed a 54-45 win over Mt. Lake Area at Edgerton.
MLA struggled to contain Edgerton's six-footer, Tanner Gunnink, who finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds.
MLA's backcourt carried the load, led by Rachel Dukes and Mikayla Falk with 15 points each. Whitney Klassen added eight points.
