The Windom Area girls hockey team picked up its third win of the season Tuesday night, making the most of its scoring chances in a 4-1 victory at Worthington.

The Eagles jumped to a 2-0 lead after one period and led 3-1 late in the second before having to kill off a string of penalties late in the second and early in the third periods. The Eagles skated off a pair of five-on-three power plays for the Trojans to preserve the victory.

Addison Beaty got the Eagles on the board halfway through the first period. Alexis Jellema-Baerg added a one-timer for a goal late in the period for a 2-0 lead.

Beaty netted her second goal of the game 3:18 into the second period, then Jellema-Baerg scored her second goal of the game six minutes into the third.

Windom outshot Worthington 29-25 in the game, with many of the Trojans' shots coming during their two extended power plays. Goalie Emily Steen finished the night with 24 saves.
