Eagle girls golf claims sub-section title
WWG, RRC compete at Section 3A South
Section 3A South Meet
Murray County Central's boys and Fulda's girls captured Section 3A South championship honors Thursday at Worthington's Prairie View Golf Links.

For the boys, MCC shot a 320 for the win. Westbrook-Walnut Grove will also advance to the Section 3A Meet with a 351. Red Rock Central was sixth with a 395.

For the girls, Fulda won with a 397. Adrian advances to the section meet with a 421. WWG was fourth with a 441 and RRC was fifth with a 451.

Individually for the boys, WWG's Dana Madson was the overall champion, shooing a 74. Also advancing to the section meet for the Chargers was Taylor Lindaman with an 84 and Aaron Hass with a 93. Brandon Sohre earned a section qualifying spot for RRC, shooting an 86.

For the girls, Fulda's Madeline Westra was the meet medalist with a 92. Paige Erickson shot a 104 to lead WWG and earn a trip to sections. Also going to sections for the Chargers is Abby Herding with a 108.

Kylie Redenius led RRC with a 110. Makayla Meier shot a 111.

Section 3AA Southeast
The Windom Eagle girls golf team made amends for a rough sub-section meet last year by capturing the Section 3AA Southeast championship Thursday. The sub-section meet was held at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake.

The Eagle girls shot a 360 team total, topping defending sub-section champion Jackson County Central by six strokes.

The Eagle boys finished as the sub-section runner-up, shooting a 344 team score. Redwood Valley won the team title with a 327.

Individually for the girls, Windom senior Megan Will was the meet medalist, shooting an 82. She was closely followed by junior teammate Kelsey Hanefeld, who took second with an 84. Hannah Kloss and Marissa Cartwright each shot 97s for the Eagles.

For the boys, Dylan Pigman finished second overall, scoring an 80. Tanner Diemer also qualified for the section meet, firing an 86. Kyle Antes and Ryan Clark each shot 89s, but lost on a playoff to JCC's Kyle Edlin for the final section qualifying position.
