Red Rock Conference Meet
Mt. Lake Area took second for the girls and third for the boys at Thursday's Red Rock Conference Meet, held at Slayton.
MLA's girls scored 140 points. Southwest Christian/Edgerton won the title with 145 points. Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central was seventh with 51.
For the boys, MLA was third with 128 points. Murray County Central won the meet with 142 points. WWG/RRC was fourth with 91.
MLA's girls were led by Lydia Hildebrandt, who won the 400 (62.31), took third in the 200 (27.82) and third in the pole vault (8-0). Whitney Klassen added a win in the 800 (2:26.49) and was second in the 1,600 (5:44.83). Hannah Stoesz won the shot put (31-7½) and the MLA team of Klassen, Brianna Soutthivong, Hildebrandt and Mikayla Falk won the 4x400 relay (4:17.45).
Falk added a runner-up finish in the pole vault (8-0) and took fourth in the 100 (13.35). Carmen Syverson was fourth in the 800 (2:37.52). Stacey Harder was fourth in the 3,200 (13:40.18). Carly Paulson was fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.38). Soutthivong took fourth in the long jump (13-11¾). MLA was second in the 4x100 relay (53.67).
For the MLA boys, Slade Harder had the lone event win of the day, taking first in the 3,200 (10:48.11).
Jose Gonzalez was second in the 400 (52.40) and fourth in the 200 (23.89). Cody Klassen took second in the 300 hurdles (43.66) and third in the 110 hurdles (17.03). Britton Pankratz was second in the high jump (6-0) and third in the triple jump (38-8). Tyler Friesen was second in the pole vault (11-0). MLA added runner-up finishes in the 4x100 (47.70), 4x400 (3:44.76) and 4x800 (9:38.69) relays.
For the WWG/RRC boys, Jeff DeCock claimed three individual wins and was part of a fourth victory. DeCock won the triple jump (40-1), long jump (20-7) and high jump (6-0) and joined Derek Christians, A.J. Jongen and Levi Bunting to win the 4x400 (3:40.85).
Jongen added a win in the 1,600 (4:48.03). WWG/RRC's team of Tanner Pederson, Alex Knutson, Christians and Bunting won the 4x200 relay (1:39.00). Adam Holman took second in the triple jump (38-9½) and fourth in the long jump (18-6).
For the Charger girls, Chloe Arfsten won the pole vault (8-6) and took second in the high jump (4-6). Mel Kedl won the high jump (4-8).

SWC Meet The Windom Eagle boys and girls track teams both placed sixth at Thursday's Southwest Conference Meet, held in Redwood Falls.
The Eagle boys scored 71 points. Marshall won the meet with 167½ points.
Windom's girls finished with 55½ points. Luverne ran away with the team title, scoring 212 points.
Individually, the Eagles saw one school record fall during the meet. Senior Megan Muller took sole possession of the girls' pole vault school record, clearing 10-6 to break the record by a full foot. Earlier in the year, she had tied the school record of 9-6, which was held by Mindy Muller.
Muller added a runner-up finish in the 100 (13.37) and took third in the 200 (27.75).
Holly Larson added a win in the discus (114-4) and took sixth in the shot put (32-1½). Amy Muller was sixth in the pole vault (7-0). Amanda Muller was sixth in the triple jump (30-2½) and Windom took fourth in the 4x100 relay (55.30).
For the boys, Michael Rivera captured a pair of SWC titles, winning the 100 (11.35) and 200 (22.87). He also ran on the runner-up 4x100 relay team (46.42).
Victor Ogeka added third-place finishes in the long jump (20-0¾) and triple jump (41-8) and took fourth in the 200 (23.79). Trent Bever was third in the shot put (46-7). Tyler Morgan took sixth in the discus (116-6). Aaron Axford was sixth in the 110 hurdles (18.59).
