Eagles top Cardinals
Falcons earn walk-off win

RRC/WWG 200 000 1 = 3-6-1

Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the seventh, then earned a walk-off 3-2 victory over Murray County Central Tuesday at Lamberton.

MCC loaded the bases in the seventh and tied the game with a bases-loaded walk, but relief pitcher Brady Bierl struck out the next three hitters, preserving the tie.

In the bottom of the seventh, Thomas Blomgren singled, worked his way to third and scored on a single by Henry Rogotzke.

Rogotzke added a two-run double in the first inning, finishing 3-for-4 in the game with all three Falcon RBI.

Bierl took the pitching win for the Falcons.

MLA 100 002 0 = 3-7-2

Mt. Lake Area took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Adrian plated three runs in the top of the seventh to claim a 5-3 win over the Wolverines Tuesday at Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines took the lead when Alex Gerdes belted a two-run home run in the sixth. But Adrian took the lead in the top of the seventh and MLA couldn't answer.

Gerdes had two hits in the loss. He also was the losing pitcher in relief for the Wolverines.

The Windom Eagle baseball team improved to 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in Southwest Conference play Tuesday with a 5-1 win over Redwood Valley at Redwood Falls.

Eagle pitcher Collin Lovell tossed a complete-game four-hitter for the win, allowing a single run in the fourth inning. He walked four and struck out nine.

Meanwhile, the bottom of the Eagle batting order came through, setting the table for Windom to score runs. In the top of the third, Andrew Larson hit a leadoff single. Andy Pfeffer singled and Danny Kneeland walked to load the bases. Lovell helped his own cause with an RBI single, with a second run scoring on an errant throw to the plate.

The Eagles pushed the lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth. Larson led off with a walk and raced home on an RBI double by Jacob Gotto.

In the sixth, Gotto hit his second double of the game, with Pfeffer driving him in with a double. Lovell followed with a two-out RBI single.

Pfeffer, Lovell, Larson and Gotto each had two hits in the victory.
