MLA 22-21 = 43 Windom 37-24 = 61 The Windom Eagle girls basketball team was able to take advantage of a depleted Mt. Lake Area squad Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 15-point halftime lead and claiming a 61-43 victory.
The Eagles pounded the ball inside early and often against the Wolverines, resulting in a 19-point effort from Gina Hauge. But the Eagles also showed offensive balance. Kelsey Hanefeld added 10 points in the win. Rachel Sorensen added nine, followed by Jasmine Carlson with eight and Holly Larson with seven.
Windom was sharp from the free throw line throughout the contest, hitting 18-of-23 free throws.
Paige Brown paced the Wolverines with 16 points. Whitney Klassen added 10 in the loss.
