First half run lifts Trojans past Eagle boys

Worthington 37-35 = 72
Windom 27-37 = 64

The Windom Eagle boys basketball team held an early eight-point lead, but a 16-0 run by Worthington late in the first half proved to be the difference. The Trojans staked themselves to a 10-point halftime lead and the Eagles never recovered, falling 72-64 to the Trojans Friday at Windom.

The Trojans hit a string of three-pointers in the first half, including three during the 16-0 run.

The Eagles battled back, eventually cutting the margin to five points late in the second half before Worthington sealed the win from the free throw line.

Collin Lovell led the way for Windom, finishing with 17 of his team-high 20 points in the second half. Lovell added eight rebounds and seven steals. Bryce Bever added 11 points. Nathan Remmers scored 10 and Andy Pfeffer added nine.
