10/20/2017 12:00:00 PM 2017 Windom United Drive to get underway
Cards and envelopes for the 2017 United Drive will begin arriving in Windom area mailboxes and at workplaces soon, said Judy Markl of Windom Women of Today, the organization that is again coordinating the charity drive this year.
The goal for the 2017 drive is again $20,000.
As in past years, the drive wraps up Dec. 31.
The only charity that has been added to the list in 2017 is Minnesota Women of Today Foundation-Windom Chapter 63. No charities were dropped from this year's list.
The process for donating remains the same as in past years. Windom Women of Today is sending out cards to over 2,000 individuals, families and businesses.
Residents are asked, when they receive their cards, to look at the charities and see one or several they would like to donate to. Markl emphasizes that whether a person donates a couple dollars, $10, or whatever they choose, it begins to add up when all donor cards are returned.
If someone would like to donate and not specify a charity, that money is divided evenly among all the charities.
