9/22/2017 9:00:00 AM Windom meeting about youth opportunity gap draws 14 citizens
The American Dream is still alive, but that dream is beginning to fade for some youth in Windom and other communities who are living in poverty.
That was the message delivered loudly at last night's Windom townhall style meeting regarding the youth opportunity gap. Roughly 14 local citizens were on hand for the event.
The goal of the event, which was hosted by the Southwest Initiative Foundation, is for Windom residents to work toward a solution (with assistance from the SWIF). A follow-up meeting is set for Oct. 11, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Windom Community Center.
Windom residents who attended last night's meeting said they will push for better attendance at the Oct. 11 meeting.
