Could the city of Windom and Windom School District share recreation programming in the future?
That was a key discussion item at last night's Windom Park and Recreation Commission meeting. On hand for the discussion was Windom School Superintendent Wayne Wormstadt.
Wormstadt told the board other communities have this type of sharing situation. He added that this could be an opportunity for the city and school to share costs and staffing.
"He feels if we would consider this we would have a better recreation program that would be open to more of our area youth," said Windom Park Superintendent Bruce Caldwell.
No decision was made at last night's meeting. The group will seek additional information from other communities regarding their handling of recreation programs and procedures. Caldwell said the board will get a full report at a future meeting.
