It appears the Highway 60 detour near St. James may be a thing of the past.
A source within the Minnesota State Highway Department has informed Citizen Online that the detour is "99 percent" likely to be removed today. Since early-June, a bridge project at the St. James wayside rest has forced traffic to take a detour that stretches into residential areas of St. James and then follows a rural two-lane highway before returning to Highway 60 at the west edge of Madelia.
