5/1/2014 3:02:00 PM Margaritas'ville preps for 'soft opening' Saturday
Windom's newest Mexican restaurant, Margaritas'ville Bar & Grill, is getting set to hold a "soft opening" on Saturday.
The restaurant, which is located in the former Eagles Club building on Fourth Avenue, will open at 5 p.m., according to owners Gustavo and Maria Hidalgo of St. James.
Maria said the decision was made to go with a "soft opening" (not promoted and not advertised) so that the new staff would not be too overwhelmed on the first day. Also, the opening was pushed back to 5 p.m. to give the kitchen extra time to prepare. However, she added that the entire menu will be available to customers.
On opening night, the business will operate until 1 a.m. Maria said a disc jockey will provide music in the banquet room.
"Our booths are in and the decorations are going up," said Maria, who is clearly upbeat about Saturday's opening. "We have all of the new patio furniture, booths and tables in place. Our sign is coming in and we have staff lined up."
Maria said she has hired new staff to go with the owners and staff from their St. James restaurant (Los Potros Mexican Restaurant). In all, she expects to have 15 workers on opening night.
"We went with a soft opening so that hopefully we won't be overwhelmed," Maria said. "We should be ready to go, except for a few details like art work and that type of thing."
