Windom Area Hospital is offering a free seminar to help anyone become an "Empowered Health-Care Consumer."
The seminar will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in Windom Area Hospital's Conference Room.
Snacks will be provided.
Kira Kimball of Sanford Health Plan will lead the seminar that will teach attendees how to take charge of their health care. Statistics show that the average time a person spends with their doctor is seven minutes. This seminar will teach attendees how to prepare and make the most of their time.
Topics will include:
Preventative guidelines. The importance of a primary care physician. How to use technology tools to communicate with your provider. The importance of a living will. How to create a personal health record and resources your health insurance provider may have for you.
