City council OKs online signup for youth baseball

It appears all sign-ups will occur online for a Windom morning baseball league for students from grades 3-5.

Last week, the Windom city council approved a proposal to allow the Windom Baseball Association to use the Windom Park & Recreation online sign-up system. To sign up, local parents can go to the City of Windom website (www.windom-mn.com).

The Island Park Morning League is operated by the Windom Baseball Association. City officials say they are allowing a non-city organization to use the online system on a trial basis.

Those signing up for baseball will be asked to mail a check for $31.50 (per player) to: Windom Baseball Association, Box 362, Windom, MN, 56101.

The Island Park Morning League will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Island Park's softball fields. The league runs from May 23-July 11.

Kids will do the pitching and catching. Each team will have a coach. A minimum of 36 players is needed for the league.
