Board workshop is Monday

The Windom Area school board will hold its monthly work session Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Room 113 of the Middle/High School.

The board will hear an annual reprt on curriculum, instruction and student achievement. It will also take action on whether or not to pursue federal Race To The Top grants with its six-district collaborative.

The board will also act to certify the 2013 payable levy limitation. This move is preliminary. The proposed levy cannot be increased after this action is taken, but it can be decreased. The board will also act to set Dec. 9, as the date for a public hearing on proposed property taxes.

The board will receive public comments and discuss the upcoming operating levy referendum. It will also discuss a funding gap seen in schools with average daily enrollments of between 1,000 and 2,000 students.
