House burn set for April 27

The practice house burn that was supposed to occur this past Thursday in Windom is now scheduled to occur on April 27.

Officials for the Windom Fire Department informed Citizen Online that the practice burn will begin at 8 a.m. at the corner of 3rd Ave. and 14th St. High winds were the listed as teh reason for postponing the practice burn. Winds reached 17 miles per hour out of the northeast at the time of the burn.

During last week's city council meeting, Mayor Corey Maricle (who is also a firefighter) said a wind out of the north would likely force a cancellation of the practice burn.
