Robotics team takes second again

The Windom Eagles Robotics team have gone from turning heads a couple of weeks ago in Bemidji to being a force with which to be reckoned.

For the third time in three meets, the first-year robotics team captured a second-place finish in the Dream !t Do !t Central Minnesota VEX Robotics Tournament in St. Cloud Saturday.

Once again, the team - comprised of Ryan Helmoski, Nicholas Wolter, Isaac Steele, Jackson Oltmans, Nate White Derek Kelsheimer and Ethan Clerc - was a runner-up to the Boss Botz, the same team against which Windom has finished second in its previous two competitions.

However, Windom came home with more than just a second-place finish. The team also placed second in the Programming Skills Challenge in which their robot moves without a driver for a 60-second period.

For more on the team's latest competition, see the story in the March 6 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands tomorrow.
