Board to hold work session Monday

The Windom school board will hold its monthly work session Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in Room 121 of the Middle/High School.

The board is expected to take action to approved the district's application to participate in the Flexible Learning Year program for 2013 through 2016. The plan would call for the district to continue earlier starts to the school year for three more years. Once approved by the participating districts, the application must also be approved by the state's Department of Education to go into effect.

The board will also approve a pair of fund-raisers for the Washington, D.C. trip for Bryan Joyce's social studies class.

The board is expected to discuss the budget for the coming fiscal year, will hear comments about workshops held at the recent Minnesota School Boards Association convention and will discuss graduation requirements.
