Youth in Harmony festival is Saturday

The Windom Area Chordhustlers will host the ninth annual "Youth in Harmony" music festival Saturday at the Jackson County Central Performing Arts Center in Jackson.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with student registration and concludes with a public concert at 4 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $5 and are available at the door.

The concert will feature 80-plus high school singers performing barbershop-style music, known for its a capella style, four-part harmony and unique sound.

There will be young men's and young women's choruses, which will each perform numbers. The groups will then come together to perform.

Guest clinicians will be Brent Graham from the men's chorus "Vocality" and Judy Weipert of the women's chorus "S.A.S.S."

The festival is sponsored in part through a grant from the Robert and Helen Remick Foundation.
