Windom schools to hold hearings for FLY application

Windom area residents will have a chance to voice their opinion on the Flexible Learning Year program at three upcoming hearings.

During Monday's regular meeting, the school board approved three hearing dates related to the school's FLY application. The FLY program is a state pilot program involving more than 20 schools in the region. Among the key aspects of FLY is a schedule that matches that of most colleges.

School typically starts in late August and ends about two weeks earlier than most other schools. Windom is considering an application to extend its use of the FLY program.

The hearings will be held at 5: 30 p.m. in room 521 at Windom Area High School. The dates are:
• Dec. 19.
• Jan. 14.
• Jan. 23.
