Harries files for council; Bretzman files for school board
Bretzman files for school board
A third candidate has now filed for election to the Windom school board.

Travis Bretzman filed for election on Wednesday morning.

He joins a ballot that includes incumbents Don Brugman and Rick Frederickson. Three four-year seats on the school board are up for election.

Incumbent Ben Schleicher has not yet filed for candidacy and has not indicated whether or not he will.

The filing period for the school board election will remain open through 5 p.m. on Aug. 12. Candidates may file at the Windom school district office, located at the Middle/High School.

The ballot for Windom city council will have at least one candidate for each open seat on the council.

On Thursday, Andy Harries filed his candidacy to run for the Ward 2 seat on the council.

Kelsey Fossing, who currently represents Ward 2 and whose seat on the council is up for election, has told the Citizen that he does not intend to file for reelection.

There remains only one contested race on the city council ballot, as both Brad Powers and Dominic Jones have filed for the at-large council seat. Powers is completing his second term as the council's at-large member, while Jones is finishing his first term representing Ward 1 on the council.

Bryan Joyce filed last week to run for the Ward 1 seat on the council.
