7/31/2014 9:05:00 AM Nass named principal at Truman
Windom Area Schools will be searching to fill an art teaching position before the start of the school year.
This comes after art teacher Mark Nass submitted his resignation from his teaching position after accepting the job as K-12 principal for the Truman school district.
Nass taught art in Windom for 14 years. In addition, he was an advisor for student senate and the junior class, and was heavily involved in preparations and decorations for homecoming, winterfest and prom.
"It's kind of bittersweet because I was active in so many things here, but I also have to think about my career and my goals," Nass said. "The Truman position opened when their principal took a job further north to be closer to family. I found out about the opening, applied on Monday, had an interview Monday night and was offered and accepted the job Wednesday.
"I think it's going to be a very good fit for me as I begin my career as an administrator."
Windom has already posted its art teaching opening and will look to have the position filled before school begins on Aug. 18.
More on this story will appear in the Aug. 6 edition of the Citizen.
