Eagle fastpitch falls to 0-3

Windom 202 011 1 = 7-6-4
Adrian 150 310 0 = 10-7-6

Defensive miscues by the Windom Eagle fastpitch team allowed Adrian Area to put together two big innings Thursday. The Dragons scored five times in the second and three in the fourth to claim a 10-7 victory over the Eagles at Ellsworth.

Windom jumped to a 2-0 lead early, scoring on a wild pitch and an error.

But Adrian scored once in the first and five times in the second, capitalizing on a pair of Eagle errors.

Windom got two runs back in the top of the third on a two-run home run by Megan Theesfeld. But the Dragons scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth, taking a 9-4 lead.

Windom scored in the fifth on a fielder's choice by Lauren Huset, once in the sixth on a double by Sutton Dewanz and once in the seventh on a wild pitch.

Theesfeld drove in three runs in the loss.

Meghan Vesey took the pitching loss, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. She walked six and struck out five.
