Huskies hold off Eagle boys
MLA stays perfect in Red Rock
MLA 35-29 = 64
WWG 28-17 = 45

Mt. Lake Area's defense held Westbrook-Walnut Grove in check Tuesday night, allowing the Wolverines to improve to 17-1 on the season with a 64-45 win at Westbrook.

MLA led by seven at the break, then held WWG to 17 second half points.

Carter Kirk led the Wolverines with 23 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots in the win, as MLA stayed unbeaten in Red Rock Conference play. Cody Klassen added 12 points and Andrew Hempeck scored 10.

Alex Knutson was the lone Charger in double figures with 21 points.

SWU 38-33 = 71
RRC 21-33 = 54

Southwestern United's outside game was clicking Tuesday night, allowing the Wildcats to build a 17-point halftime lead and go on to a 71-54 win over Red Rock Central at Lamberton.

The Falcon defense limited SWU's interior scoring chances, but SWU's guard tandem of Trey Cranston and Aaron Fest combined for 42 of the Wildcats' 71 points.

Thomas Blomgren led RRC with 15 points. Sam Halter finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the loss.

JCC 35-33 = 68
Windom 23-36 = 59

Jackson County Central hit 10 three-pointers Tuesday night and held off a late Windom rally Tuesday to defeat the Eagles 68-59 at Windom.

The Huskies jumped to a 12-point halftime lead. Windom was able to cut the deficit to five points in the second half before JCC pulled away late.

Sam Huska led the Eagles with 15 points. Kyle Antes added 14 points in the loss.
