Commissioners extend delay on Towlerton site bid

At Tuesday's regular meeting, Cottonwood County commissioners voted to delay action on a potential purchase of the former Towlerton Motors site.

On the recommendation of Commissioner Tom White, the board decided it will not seek to purchase the property until after Jan. 1. Recently, White told the Windom Economic Development Authority, the board previously announced a 45-day waiting period because they had learned that a private business was interested in buying the site within that time frame.

Recently, the business learned that the process may take a bit longer. County commissioners do not want to interfere with a potential sale to a private business.
