Marcy benefit is Sunday
Friends and family of Tyann Marcy of Mt. Lake are planning a benefit and silent auction in her honor Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at PJ's II in Bingham Lake.
The brunch includes hot dogs, brats, potato salad, chips and pop for a suggested donation of $6 per plate.
Some silent auction items have been secured, but the benefit is also receiving more donations.
For those unable to attend the benefit, donations may be left at United Prairie Bank locations in Windom and Mt. Lake, or sent to: United Prairie Bank, c/o Tyann Marcy Benefit Fund, 1545 1st Ave., Windom, MN 56101, or 1141 3rd Ave., Mt. Lake, MN 56159.
In May, Tyann was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had her thyroid removed. However, further testing revealed a mass in her breast.
Because of Tyann's family history of breast cancer, she had a double mastectomy.
The benefit is to offset the expenses of missing work and covering trips to Sioux Falls for appointments and radiation treatments.
It was reported in Wednesday's edition of the Citizen that the benefit would be Saturday, but it is Sunday, Aug. 18. The Citizen apologizes for the error.
