South Central Electric slowly restoring power to residents
Crews from South Central Electric (SCE), Redwood Electric, High Line Construction and the City of St. James are working feverishly to restore power to Cottonwood County residents.
According to a representative from SCE, over 100 poles are broken and down in Cottonwood County and at the height of the power outage six sub-stations were offline and 1,000 households without power from about 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., today. However, four sub-stations now have been restored with 700 to 750 households still without power.
The representative also said that in one four mile intersection -- from the intersection, one mile in each direction -- 60 three-phase poles were down.
He also said that he is hopeful that full power could be restored by Friday night, but could not make any guarantees.
