3/18/2013 8:14:00 AM Windomnet, Southwest Broadband receive Blandin Grant
The Blandin Foundation has announced that its Broadband Strategy Board has selected the 6090 Technology Corridor as a grant recipient to develop economic development strategies leveraging the next-generation fiber networks deployed by Windomnet and Southwest Minnesota Broadband Services(SMBS).
The focus of the initial funding will allow the 6090 Technology Corridor to formulate the strategies working with local economic development associations, educational institutions and other interested parties to market the region as a high-technology destination for business and teleworkers.
The areas of focus will include such things as: a "help-wanted" section for businesses looking for technology skilled workers; a "Tele-work" package for remote workers; marketing collateral for EDA members to share with potential businesses touting the fiber connectivity available locally and much more.
