Eagles hold off Mavericks
Chargers sweep past Dutchmen

WWG 25-25-25 = 3

Westbrook-Walnut Grove built a commanding lead in the first set and never relinquished control Tuesday night, improving to 16-3 overall and 5-1 in Red Rock Conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Edgerton at Westbrook.

The Chargers had strong night at the service line, led by Abby Herding's 26-of-27 performance with 10 ace serves. Dayna Comnick was 16-of-16 with four aces while Hailey Osland was 9-of-9 with four aces.

Herding added 18 set assists in the win. Paige Erickson led WWG with seven kills. Osland added six and Comnick finished with five.

Fulda 13-25-21-11 = 1
RRC 25-23-25-25 = 3

Red Rock Central battled back after dropping the second set Tuesday to claim a 3-1 victory over Fulda at Jeffers.

Mikaela Smith led the Falcons at the service line, going 23-of-24 with three aces. Brooke Rasmussen was 18-of-19 with two aces while Chloe Arfsten was 14-of-15 with an ace.

Fern Engen led RRC at the net with 11 kills. Arfsten and Melanie Kedl each had six kills in the win. Tegan Derickson had 15 set assists. Smith added 10 assists and Rasmussen had a team-high 18 digs.

Ellsworth 15-31-15-23 = 1
MLA 25-29-25-25 = 3

Mt. Lake Area regrouped from a heartbreaking second set loss to regain momentum and claim a 3-1 victory over Ellsworth Tuesday in Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines had a strong night at the net, paced by 14 kills from Janessa Peters. Paige Brown blasted nine kills. Jordan Syverson and Kailee Heltemes each added six kills. Carmen Syverson had five blocks and was a team-high 24-of-25 serving. Brown was 25-of-26 serving in the victory. Rachel Dukes handed out 33 set assists. Mikayla Falk had a team-high 19 digs.

The Windom Eagle volleyball team regrouped from back-to-back losses Tuesday night to claim a 3-1 victory over Martin County West at Trimont.

The Eagles opened up a 2-0 lead in games before MCW battled back to take the third set. Windom answered back, jumping to an early lead and claiming the final set.

Holly Larson led the Eagles with 19 kills and a pair of solo blocks. Rachel Sorensen added nine kills in the win.

Jasmine Carlson fired six ace serves on 8-of-11 serving. Hali Tasler was 24-of-25 serving with two aces. Carlson and Tasler each finished with 20 digs. Shelby Mattson recorded 21 set assists.
